Bio

I came to drugs by way of a medical career -- first as an Army Medic, then a Pharmacy Technician and finally a licensed Pharmacist. With the background and training, I thought I was in charge. What was really going on was that I had access - a shot at the cookie jar.

After the usual spiral down and crash, I'm more than a decade clean and sober. I have to thank my wife for her love and support, without which I don't think I would have made it through to my second career as a freelance writer. Life is good.

Best advice for the newly abstinent: Find something else to fill that hole in your life that drugs or alcohol once occupied. Something you can care about. Something with real meaning.
