Porn addiction is usually a manifestation of something deeper. It is a distortion of a proper relationship with sexual intercourse. Some porn addicts are acting out from early exposure to porn as kids. Others are disconnected from a proper spousal relationship and turn to porn to escape rather than confront their issues. Anyway you go the sufferer will need counseling and therapy and of course to stay away from those surroundings and imagery that will pull them back into porn.

I suspect that's also why the media content tends toward themes of domination and control.
