Klonopin has been used to blunt the symptoms of a variety of addictions, including opioids, alcohol, and even valium, and one of the reasons is because of its long half-life. While I've never heard of it being used for xanax, I don't see why that wouldn't be fairly effective. Often, when used in a treatment facility, they use a klonopin patch, which is a better delivery system than taking a pill, at least in this setting.
