Is it ok for a recovering percocet addict w/ 2 sober yrs to take it as perscribed 10days 30 pills 10mg If they have their jaw wired shut after a wisdom tooth extraction? If not what are the alternatives for managing the pain of this procedure?
This is a very dangerous road to go down especially if you have been addicted in the past. I understand that pain management is very important and something must be taken but have you discussed this with your doctor and explained your past? This could help in finding the right alternative that will not get you back to your addiction. Good Luck!

I know it's probably to late, but I just found the site last wk and I'm still learning to navigate my way around.
As MissThng stated "its a dangerous road" my friend. Talk to your Doc explain the situation and ask for Ibuprofen granted you have no allergies to it. Most adults can take up to 800 Mg's safely and get the desired effect of being pain free. In fact most I have talked to are amazed by the results they receive from Ibuprofen. Ask your Doc to prescribe the best recommended dose for your weight and condition. You can also get Ibuprofen in liquid form which maybe easier to take seeing that your are going to be wired shut. If going the liquid route make sure you ask your Doc to clearly state how many CC's should be measured out to get the proper dosage.
Why go down a terribly bumpy road if you don't have to. Take care, good luck, and hang tough my friend. Pain is a temporary obstacle that can be easily dealt with. Addiction lasts a life time so always proceed with caution.

My mom injected heroin for 10 years and recently has had surgery and used her pain meds as directed just fine without relapse. It really depends on whether it is over in your mind. Do you still have cravings? She didn't so she was ok. if you do consider Ibogaine treatment to get rid of all your cravings.

Just wanted to say thank you for pointing me in the direction of Ibogaine. I'm going to read up on it ASAP. I'm always excited to learn! I would love to hear more from you about it if have some time to teach.
