In order to be considered addicted to something, you must compulsively seek to engage in that behavior regardless of negative consequences. An addiction negatively affects the quality of your life, but you still are unable to control your behavior. If you are addicted to something, you're probably preoccupied with the idea of engaging in that activity or using that substance.
We often use the word "addicted" to refer to behaviors or interests that we have trouble not doing, but most of us aren't truly addicted to them. A bad habit may be something very difficult to stop, but I wouldn't consider it an addiction unless it starts to become a central feature of your life. If you devote yourself to it to the extent that it was impacting your ability to hold down a job or maintain a relationship, then I would consider it something more than a bad habit.
