Gambling Disorders May Not Be Degenerative

The study, “Stability and Progression of Disordered Gambling: Lessons From Longitudinal Studies” discovered that gambling addictions don’t without exception increase in severity over time in a degenerative fashion, and that overcoming the compulsion is sometimes achieved without any help, notions that are contrary to the 12 step model of addiction asserted by groups such as Gamblers Anonymous.

Predictably, numerous online gambling web sites are reporting the study.
