Innocent-faced Disney star Zac Efron is rumored to have completed a "secret" stint in rehab earlier this year for cocaine addiction.
According to the Daily Mail, the actor was also experimenting with MDMA, the active ingredient in ecstasy tablets, when he spiraled out of control during the filming of the movie "Neighbors," which was shot in the beginning of April.
According to several sources, Efron went on a "coke rager" during a stay at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas earlier this year, causing about $50k in damage. His wild behavior was reported to be the main cause of issues in his career - Zac also missed several days of filming while shooting "Neighbors."
Now, however, sources say that Zac is happy, healthy and sober.
"He's taking time to focus on working," one insider told E! News.
Another source told People, "He's doing great. He's taking care of himself and it shows."
News of Zac's rehab stint probably comes as a shock to his fans, as the actor has been known to avoid the party scene, apart from one strip club incident in Vegas back in 2010.
Neither Zac nor his publicist are commenting on the rehab rumors, but Efron simply told reporters at the Toronto Film Festival recently, "I'm good, real good."
The 25-year-old will next appear in the movie "Parkland," where he plays the doctor who struggled to save JFK after he was shot in 1963.
