Ultram

Hey there everyone...I was wandering if anyone knows anything about Ultram? I've been taking it for 6 months and CANT get off. Any help would be appreciated!

Ultram Withdrawal Can Be Worse than Oxycontin, Vicodin,

Some Florida Detox patients report untreated Ultram or Tramadol withdrawal was more severe than Vicodin, Lortab or Oxycontin withdrawal.

Ultram is active at the mu opiate receptor, elevates serotonin and norepinephrine and partially blocks the NMDA glutamate receptor, actions also performed by Methadone, a very addictive drug.

In published literature, about three percent of Ultram patients become addicted to Ultram, although many practitioners and patients suspect the Ultram addiction rate is much higher than three percent. Some Ultram patients reported becoming addicted, within ten days, while others reported using Ultram for four to six months, before becomeing addicted.

The Drug Enforcement Administration has not classified Ultram as a Controlled Substance, although Ultram appears far more addictive than Lyrica, or Lunesta which are classified as Schedule 5 and Schedule 4 Controlled Substances.
Some Ultram patients report repeated seizures, while using Ultram.

Ultram combined with serotonin enhancing medications including Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors, including Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil and Effexor or Tricyclic Antidepressants, including Trazodone and Elavil can cause a potentially fatal serotonin syndrome.

Sadly, many Ultram addicted patients suffer from the ignorance of people telling them, "You can not become addicted to Ultram."

I really appreciate your response, thank you! :)

Ultram

I am new to this site and this is my first post. I started off being addicted to Loratabs after two foot surgeries (actually having a third surgery in just a few weeks). My doctor added Ultram into my pain meds. I didn't notice any type of "high" like I did with the Loratabs and did not think I was addicted to them. I never craved them the way I did Loratabs. However, when I went off of them I had two seizures during the withdrawal process. It was horrible! I don't know much about Ultram, I just know I had a terrible experience and will now avoid them at all cost.
