My girlfriend has had some really bad back pain for the last 6-7 months. Recently she has started to take more and more Lorcet. From what I see she will take 4 to 6 at a time and has started doing that more than 5 times a day. It could be she is even doing more when I am not around. I assume her tolerance is just building up. Is there a chance that it is just not working anymore????

I think the best thing you can do is to take her back to her pain management doctor. You need to explain the situation to her doctor right away with her by your side.

How is your girlfriend doing? I hope that she is feeling better and that she has been able to balance the pain medication along with her back pain. It can be difficult for family members to tell a loved one's doctor about possible medication abuse, but in the long run, it will benefit her, your relationship with her, and her relationship with her doctor.
