Need some advice

Hello to all,

I have been looking around a few forums for advice. I have a really good friend who I think might have a problem. Mostly with drinking. We have been really good friends for about 7 years. We have done a lot of partying together in the past. A few years ago we did a lot of drinking, e and coke. I have cut everything else out just like most of our friends have but he still keeps going on and on. Most of us are just social drinkers now. He always seems to find a date a girl who will drink and do coke with him. It has even affected his work sometimes. I know he needs some sort of help. Maybe some counseling. Maybe see a doctor. I am just worried that he won't change his social lifestyle. Sometimes I feel like turning my back but I know it's not the right thing to do. Any suggestions?

I actually went through a similar situation with my cousin. It is difficult if they do not want to leave the surroundings they are in. One thing that helped in our case was counseling. I can't say it is right for what you and your friend are going through but it can definitely help. Keep strong.

I agree with Shelby. There are more than likely addiction specialists or addiction psychiatrists in your area that you can contact. They will help tremendously.

unfortunately, he will not quit until he sees it as a problem, you can offer feedback and your opinion......but until he is ready to make a change, he more than likely won't. Let him know how you feel and steer him in the right direction. Good luck
