New commer Please read me

Hi everyone!!!
My name is Paul, Im 32 and I have been an addict for 14 year. Heroin was my choice drug, well, yes it was my decision to take it but I didn't know what it would lead to and the things I would do. Had a really crap childhood and was abused at 8 year old so I started drinking and about 12 started taking drugs but at 18 I started Heroin. I was not educated about drugs then and what I did know was little. Im in no way making excuses for my actions as the decision to take Heroin was my own. Only if we could change the bad decisions we make in our life.
Anyway at the moment I'm on Methadone and it was a struggle getting on that. I am stable now and doing well, just looking for a job to keep me busy.
I would like to help others with some information or support if anyone would like some help with a situation they are in as I know how hard it is for an addict, family and friends to find what information they need. Please feel free to drop me a note at
l.i.f.e-care@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you
