and haven't eaten. Sometimes stress makes me eat and sometimes it doesn't. The high stress which is now and it all concerns money causes me not to eat.
I journaled this a.m. and figured out a few things by doing that. I talked to my husband about money, told my son he had to assume his college tuition. We have been carrying him for over 5 years now. He works full time and he can afford it. I will also talk to my school about our situation.
The housing market here in california really caused us some pain, but I will get through this one day at a time. I know that is true. I have to trust the process my HP puts in front of me. I know there is hope. I have been there and back and I have always been taken care of. the food keeps me from doing the things I need to do. I think that is why the money thing is so in my face now because I am working my program.
I am in need of a food and regular sponsor for this program if anyone would be avalialbe please let me know.
thanks for listening...have a good day!!!

One thing that I have learned over the past months is how to cope with things when stress comes along. I had someone come to me here and they said that is one of the main objectives in recovery. When things stress us out we need to deal with it in a manner that does not take us to the past. I am not saying it is easy but as time goes on we all can hopefully deal with issues and not throw ourselves back to where we were.

qat, you are so right. When I used to get stressed in life...whether it was family, money, work...I would always turn to using. It happened so much that is how I fell into my addiction.

It had to stop.

I often feel myself getting back into anxiety...

I stop, relax, breathe and talk myself out of it. It has been easier as every day passes in my recovery but it is still a fight.

Hi, I am new to this board...Stress is one of the main reasons I tend to over-eat. I am a stay at home mom of a 2 year old. My husband works a lot and it's just me and my daughter most of the time...Every since having her, I have not been able to take the baby weight off...it's my excuse I guess for being fat...I wasn't a skinny girl before having her, and now I have kept 15 lbs. of pregnancy weight on me and it's been 2 years. I live in a cold climate and so winters are very depressing...I have tried going on diets and wind up restricting myself too much and then I binge eat!...I do eat when lonely, bored, stressed, etc...I need to find the right amount of calories and right kinds of foods that will help curb the cravings...I decided to sign up here in hopes of finding someone on here that experiences some of the same things I do...Would be nice to get some support...been thinking of counseling...strange enough, I am a mental health counselor when I did work before having my child...I know all the things to do, but still think counseling may be the way to go with me...I think I need some type of med to surpress my appetite!...

The most important thing I learned while in recovery is how to cope. Stress ant work at home, the pressures is what lead me to become an alcoholic. Dealing with it is what helped me recover. I know it is not easy but learning coping skills is crucial for any kind of recovery.
