Hello all. This is my first time.
I have been struggling with eating disorders for over 7 years now. I first became anorexic when I was 16. at the age of 19 I became a compulsive binge eater. I just celebrated my 23 birthday, and I was hoping to celebrate it heading towards recovery... I have been in therapy for a long time. I have been with my one therapist for the past 4 months. I am not seeing progress in my eating. I was thinking about going into a treatment center and was wondering if anyone has done this and what their thoughts are.
I am so fed up, yet trying to be tender with myself. But it is hard when my weight fluctuates so much, you know? I feel too young to be under weight, normal weight, over weight, etc.

Hello. Thanks for posting. I have been battling my ED for quite some time. I think it all stemmed from an abusive relationship that I was in. I did not what to do and I did not know where to turn. I started to talk to other people with EDs and Addictions and many said that a treatment center combined with support groups would help in my way to recovery. I finally checked into a center and what I learned from a doc there is that every treatment is individualized so that helped as well. I also started to go to OA (overeaters anonymous). they help with all EDs. I kept quiet for a while at the meetings but they said that was okay. It was comforting to hear that so many were going through what I was going through and it gave me the strength to get better. I know this will always be a part of my life and every day will be a new struggle but I feel that I have left the dark place that I used to be in.
