What sugar addiction can do to you, and how to stop its effects

If you are having a hard time breaking your sugar addiction, just think of one thing–fat. It would definitely be harder for you to lose weight if you just cannot stop munching all those sweets. Worse, your sugar addiction may also lead to unwanted obesity.

At first, it may be very difficult to quit your addiction to sugar, so an important thing to remember is to take it one step at a time. Drastically modifying your diet will only lead to more sugar cravings that will be very hard to resist.

Start with your carbonated beverages. Look for alternatives to your colas, such as water laden with a dash of lemon, or herbal teas sweetened with just a little bit of honey.

You can also substitute your sweet-to-the-core desserts with healthy alternatives, such as fruits and yogurts. True, fruits and yogurts still contain sugar, but not as much as ice creams, chocolates, or cakes. You can also select low fat or sugar free desserts. These small steps will aid you in your quest to finally quitting your sugar addiction.
