When Shopping Is No Longer A Therapy

Shopping has been viewed and is still being viewed as a good way of freeing oneself from the stress of everyday living. But what if the need to shop is already uncontrollable?

A telltale sign of being a shopping addict is when the person spends more than his or her budget. They no longer see the boundary and are only after the “rush” that they would feel when shopping. However, they would usually feel guilty after a purchase and would try to send the purchase back. This would usually go on and on, creating a vicious cycle in the process.

Shopping Addicts tend to hide their purchases. When questioned about bills, they would lie about where the money went. They also tend to keep to themselves thus straining their relationships with their family and friends. They would usually shop out of frustration, when angry or when lonely. When restrained from shopping, they would show signs of withdrawal.

If these things sound like someone you know, better get a professional help.
