With Friends Like These....

I hate it when a real headline sounds like a fake one I'd make up: Chris Brown Defends Tiger Woods.

I’m sure Tiger’s camp is oh-so-thrilled with that little piece of news.

“I think people always deserve a second chance,” Brown said yesterday in a Detroit radio interview spotted by MTV News. “I hope [Woods] gets back on the field and does his thing, ’cause he is the best at it…Whatever [Woods'] personal life is, and this goes for me and him, his personal life is his personal life. Nobody has the right to place judgment or make any judgment on anybody else’s personal life when they’re not directly involved with them.”
Yeah, except when you commit a felony – you actually do get judged, Chris. That’s sort of the way the justice system works.

‘I think it’s cool (that Woods apologized). I think people always deserve a second chance. I know my fans gave me a second chance,’ said Brown.
Other than being annoying, this little bit o’ news that landed on my desk this morning does remind me that when we are struggling with addiction, as Tiger may or may not be), we might very well have people in our lives who are our “me too” buddies. You know who they are. No matter what stupid decisions you make, they’ll always have your back and helping you justify why it’s ok for you to throw away everything you love and value.
When you’re ready to get rid of your addiction, you might want to start by ditching these so-called friends.
