Three Signs of Internet Pornography Addiction
Submitted by dell1 on Mon 02/02/2009 - 03:17
With the many free pornographic sites proliferating in the internet, it is no wonder that internet pornography is hailed as one of the fastest progressing modern day addictions. People practically have access to everything pornographic–from kinky videos to live webcam chatrooms. It was difficult to imagine that less than twenty years ago, pornography was something taboo.
According to experts, there are three specific indications of sexual addiction. The first one is compulsivity, wherein the person loses his ability to control his decisions. It’s as if there’s a force that pushes him to continue his addiction whether he likes it or not.
Another indication is obsession, which concerns the thoughts of the sexual addict. Even when he’s not in front of the computer screen, he is constantly preoccupied with sexual thoughts that he tends to neglect his duties at home and at work.
Lastly, a sexual addict continues this kind of behaviour even if his life is disintegrating before his eyes. A sexual addict cannot function normally because of his sexual preoccupation.
Internet pornography addiction is definitely not something that you can just shove to the sidelines. This is a serious problem, which can affect the lives of many.
