Was Prescription Drug Abuse to Blame for Actress Britney Murphy’s Death?

While early rumors suggested an eating disorder may have been at fault, early media reports are now saying that 10 different types of medication were found on her bedside table by an officer from Los Angeles County Coroner's department.
They contained anti-depressants, anti-convulsants, anti-inflammatories and antibiotics.

The medications were in several different names, including those of Murphy, her mother, Sharon, and her husband, Simon Monjack. Some suggested that she became addicted to painkillers after plastic surgery, which she denied having.
Typically, addictions to prescription medication often begin with a legitimate visit to a doctor or emergency room. The patient is generally being treated for pain, anxiety, or depression.

Could someone you know be addicted to prescription medication? The signs include the following:
Complaining of vague symptoms to get more medication

Lack of interest in treatment options other than medications

Mood swings

Seeing several doctors and/or pharmacies to get more pills

Past history of drug addiction

On and off relief from anxiety

Using more than the recommended amount of the medication

Using prescription pills prescribed for others

Getting rid of an addiction to prescription medication can be done, but it is best done with the help of medical professionals.
