Perilous Percocet Addiction

Percocet is often prescribed by doctors as a painkiller. It is also known as a narcotic analgesic. It is similar to oxycodone and acetaminophen. Most patients have about 20 – 40 pills a day to get rid of their pain.

Percocet is a physically and emotionally addictive painkiller. it creates a sense of euphoria by blocking the pain receptors in the brain. The patient starts to lose concentration, feels dizzy, and feels nauseous. Withdrawal symptoms of Percocet depend on how much and how long the drug has been used by the patient. Typical withdrawal symptoms are insomnia, restlessness, vomiting and muscle and bone pain. Patients who have emotional problems are likely to get addicted if Percocet is prescribed. The temporary euphoria makes the patient crave for increased quantities of the drug. Treatment has to be both psychological and through medication as in the case of all addictions to substances. or drugs.

i am addicted to percocets,

i am addicted to percocets, there just is never enough for me and my fiancee. I got into a car accident in Dec.2007 which left me with 5 herniated discs in my back, and the Dr put me on them then, my fiancee has been on them for about 2 yrs. now from the dentist, he had to have alot of teeth worked on which he was precribed them for that pain. Anyway I go to pain management every month and get 90 10/325's and 60 40 mgs of oxycotin, he takes the oc's and i take the percs, after i dose out 30-40 of each to other people i know who give them to me and him to help us get thru, but it's never enough, the pills we get from my dr only last us 5-6 days, then we are on the hunt again, always broke bcuz they are so expensive on the streets. we often talk about getting off of them but we also love the high, I know... we need to make a choice, it's either the high or suffer the consequences. We have never made it past 6 days of being clean at that point we just got to get some, it's ridiculous, sad but true, anyone else out there that has this same problem or did and is now clean and can offer some advice on it all the w/d's how long until we no longer have that craving? how long does it take to get this shit completely out of our system where we are feeling good again, energetic and all???? Or will we ever feel like that again?

Dear Readers. I am on this

Dear Readers.
I am on this site because my boyfriend is addicted to percocets and killing himself and us slowly. After six years together we are at a crossroad. I have tried numerous times but to no avail to get him to see how serious this is and the harm he is doing to himself and the people that love him. His moods are terrible, he is irritable and always on a "mission" to get more. He stayed clean for about 7 days, some friends called he went out and again the same thing. Let me just say not friends but "get high buddies" he is 27 yrs old and I dont know if he will get to be 30. It has always been something marijuana, oxies, roxies, ect. I am tired, frustrated, and angry. He does not want help and just continues so I guess its time for us to separate and for me to continue to pray and put it in God's hands. To all struggling out there LOVE yourself and ask for help.
Peace:)
