Britney Murphy’s Hubby Refutes Pill-Popping Rumors

In an interview with NBC, Murphy’s husband denies the addiction rumors surrounding his wife’s death. “My wife did not take anything on the morning of her death that would have caused her to be sick or ill, let alone die. It’s beyond even the sickest speculation,” said Murphy’s husband Simon Monjac. “The attacks on me, the attacks on my wife and suggestions that she was drug addicted and anorexic.”
What I find interesting is his “proof” of that fact. “It’s like, look at the (recent) photographs,” he said. “Look at that smile. That’s not the smile of an anorexic or drug addict or someone in a bad marriage. That’s someone who was content with her life.”
Or, and this could just be me, it could be the smile of someone who was a very accomplished actress. I certainly hope the toxicology reports are clear and provide an alternative reason for her death, but until then, I won’t draw any conclusions based on the brightness of her smile.
Murphy was buried in Hollywood on Christmas Eve. RadarOnline.com claimed the “strictly private” funeral was held during the day at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her father was reported not to have attended the funeral, as he and his daughter had been estranged for several years.
