Understanding Addictions: Part 1

There are many people that are out there that know that addictions exist, but there are those who do not realize how or why an addiction can come about. There are quite a number of factors in the decision making process of becoming an addict. Believe it or not, there are some who think just because it has been known to run in the family, that they should just go ahead and start being an addict early. They feel that, because of the “addiction” blood running through their veins, they have to be like this in order to feel closer to the family. I know it may seem a bit shocking for some, but there are those who believe these things. This all part of the “where you come from” addiction. If you have ever lived with an addict, grew up with an addict, or had an addict that had a large influence on your life, it could only be a matter of time before you think you should be an addict as well.
