You want the good news or the bad news?

In a national report studying 50,000 teens, Monitoring the future: Early drug use results, the reports show a mixed bag of news about the country's 8th-12th graders.

One of the concerns, marijuana use, after being on the decline for a short while is apparently rising once again among teens.

While Vicodin use among high-school seniors (12th graders) is apparently down, non-medical use of prescription medications is still generally high among teens, continuing a recent upward trend

Heroin injection rates up among high-school seniors (12th graders) -this is a scary one.

And the piece of good news?
Binge drinking of alcohol is down - The vast majority of problems associated with the over consumption of alcohol (binge drinking) among high-school students has to do with the trouble they get themselves in while drunk (pregnancies, DUI accidents, and the likes).
