I mean Blackberry. But you already knew what I meant, didn’t you? Over at crackberry.com, there’s a 12 step program just for you, beginning with Step 1 – “Admit we were powerless over our CrackBerries — that our lives have become unmanageable without the little gadgets and that, like Pavlovian dogs, we are slaves to its bleeps, vibrations, buzzes and rings.”
You know you are a crackberry addict when you’re surfing so long that your arm, then slowly your hand and fingers go numb... when you wake up in the morning and you check your blackberry before you use the bathroom, and when you’d rather text than talk.
Seriously, if you are hearing a "phantom ring" (or experiencing a phantom vibration), and constantly checking your e-mail, you are showing signs of a BlackBerry addiction. Psychological experts say it can function like any other addiction and can interfere with real life. E-mail and text messages may feed the ego because they make people feel important.
Not sure if you have a problem? Give it up for a weekend. An entire weekend without texting, checking phone messages or surfing. See if you’ve got a little addiction going on.
