A subtle way to addiction

How does addiction start? There can me a thousand and one way that can lead a person to addiction. Researcher results points out that environment conditions could provoke the person to start using addictive substances or to indulge in "process addictions" like gambling.

The primary contributing factor is in the home/family. If a member or members of his or her family is addicted, there is a big chance that the person could be addicted too. Let us say, if at home the mother or the father smokes, there is a higher chance of nicotine dependencies on other members of the family. When somebody in the household gambles, the younger ones are more like to follow.

Individuals that grow in families that allow ridicule and less praise are more likely to succumb to substance abuse. In most case studies, it has been revealed that most addicts are lacking in acceptance in there own home.

Likewise, it is also found in researches that addicts usually belong to families that frequently transfer from one home to another. Addiction may also be an influence of living in a community in which substance abuse is widely accepted.

It is not surprising to note that successful medical interventions would require the help of the home and placing the person in a good neighborhood.
