Caffeine: A daily drug

Caffeine has been labeled as the world’s most popular psychoactive drug. Popular because you can get it from coffee, soda, tea, energy drink, chocolate, and even in ice cream and pastries. There is hardly anyone who does not love even one among these things. You and I take it everyday, sometimes more than a couple of times a day. To a degree, you might blame Starbucks but only enough to abstain from that next cup of espresso. Coffee, after all, has been around long before the famous chain of gourmet coffee. It has kept millions of workers awake during the industrial revolution and it’s still doing it now. We have depended on it to get us out of bed when we need it. We have relied on it to concentrate on that school paper or that pending assignment in the office. A cup a day, maybe even a couple, is okay. But when you feel like you can’t function without it, it’s time for you to be alarmed and examine your habits and behavior closely.
