Jailhouse Blues

It's official. Lindsey Lohan checked into her local prison yesterday, making herself the latest in a string of pop stars turned addicts running afoul of the law.

I'm no dummy - I have no expectation that the experience Lohan has in jail will be very typical - I am confident preferential treatment will abound. But, it still isn't going to be a pleasant experience for her. My hope? That it allows her an opportunity to take inventory of her life and see where she is and what she still has left to lose.

Sadly, in my own life, I have rarely taken inventory until I have suffered a painful outcome. Like most others, I did not see a need to get help until my addiction had cost me something.

The question for today is simply this: Have you paid a high enough price yet or do you need to lose more?
