How to Find Free Drug Rehab Treatment
As inpatient recovery programs can be expensive, getting help through free drug rehab treatment is always an option.
Many cities have a vast range of resources available, including the following:
Non-profit counseling centers
Research non-profit counseling centers in your area. These organizations often provide free substance abuse interventions services, such as individual counseling or group therapy sessions. Women can also find specialized services for addiction at centers specifically for females.
12-step and recovery-based programs
Look for different types of 12-step meetings in your town or city. Alcoholics anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or programs like SMART recovery offer free meetings and events to anyone. Here you can also find support from other members, a sponsor to help you on your path to recovery and a built-in community of people who understand what you're going through.
Private addiction support groups
Some counselors, mental health professionals or healthcare organizations offer free addiction support groups that may meet once a week or every month. These groups might be 12-step in nature or follow other programs of recovery. Make some calls to addiction counselors in your area to see what options might be available to you.
Community-based rehab centers
Some drug rehab centers offer treatment on a sliding scale fee, based on your income. While you might not be able to receive treatment for free, these types of places can often work with you to set up a payment schedule that is reasonable based on your income. They may also offer work-exchange programs, where you can perform chores or work in order to pay for your treatment.
